WTB: Hankin Empire Strikes Back parts top $$$ paid
« on: June 27, 2012, 02:38:01 PM »
Hello,

My apologies if this is not the right area to post these. My pinball is missing two of the white square drop targets that have the Darth Vader image on them. Most that I have seen the Vader image has worn off but still have a fine outline. That is totally fine but I do want originals. Willing to pay good price to replace one of the three on the left and the one on the right which seems to be missing on mine.

Also looking for the brochure or pamphlet that advertised the release of the pinball and has a pic of Mark Hamill with the pinball.

If anyone has experience with this pinball I'd really love to hear from you as I am having trouble connecting the top section back up after delivery and think there may be an issue (or my lack of knowledge) . I know there was a guy on here that I read used to service these and thought they were a nightmare. Would love to hear from him. I'm in Brisbane.

Email if you can help me at platlav@hotmail.com

Regards

Paul

Hi Paul,

I will have a look through my left overs from when I owned this game, pretty sure I have one or two of the drop targets.

If you can describe the issues clearly, someone here might be able to assist - a few members currently have this game, and I have a good memory of mine. Might also be able to email you a copy of the manual if you need it.

Thanks for responding, I've sent you an email.

Regards Paul

I will get a picture up of my wiring in the backbox and maybe other owners can let me know if there is anything they see that is wrong.

Here are some pics of the wiring, there seems to be a burnt out piece that once has wires connected but this may have been re-routed. There are two wires not connected and seem wrapped with the bunch they are blue and possibly go into the connector that has other blue wires in it. Really not sure. This may look a mess to most. When I turned it on the sound was really loud does anyone know how to adjust volume. Any input appreciated. Regards Paul

Just a little bump to see if anyone could look at the photos I posted and see if they can see anything glaringly wrong. The unattached blue wires have me perplexed. There is a piece that has other blue wires coming out of a screwed down port. Could this be my problem ?

Thanks

Paul

The bottom connector has certainly been "hacked".

Looks like several of the wires have been soldered directly to the back of the board to bypass the burnt connector.

Have you got a copy of the manual and do you have a multimeter?

Also, what suburb are you in?

That was a factory hack to get around the high GI load due (I think from memory) to the lights around the backbox. Was the same on my machine and a couple others I saw over the years.

Hoping Daniel will pipe in, he currently has this game.

Hi I'm at Bald Hills I do have a copy of the manual but I don't even know what a multimeter is. I'm too much of a novice.

Thanks for all the help so far. I'm blown away by the amount of people willing to try and help a fellow enthusiast out.

I am not too far away.  If you are really stuck, could probably pop in and have a quick look for you.

Also wondering if anyone has any of the playfield post caps that are shown in the below picture. I was given a link to be able to purchase replacement new caps which are excellent but I wouldn’t mind getting original ones that have the same type of colouring if possible. If anybody has any spare please contact me and I will buy them off you. I’m looking for 8.

Pushing the friendship now but also looking for an original scorecard as shown in the attached pic or a scan of one if an original is not available ( As I imagine it wouldn’t)

Really positive experience joining this forum, so many people willing to help I’m impressed.

I'd suggest buying enough new post caps to replace the lot  from rtbb using the link I sent
