Awesome stuff!  Well done.

I think you've used up all your pinball god luck for the time being!  But at that price, you can send your playfield to HiendPins and still come out in front!

Mate!. Welcome to the club!. Score of the year for sure :)

Problem with respraying the cab is the natural yellowing of the playfield looks a bit weird when you bring the cab back to stark white.

Same with new bumper caps. Put some on mine 10 years ago. They are still pretty white, but have mellowed a little over the years  %.%

So this was a good buy then even not working??What would this machine have gone for not working and as is on Ebay with a $1 starting price would you think??

That's a hard one - But looking at your game - $4500 minimum. Working - $5000 +

Is this the bargain of the century???

And is $1500 a good price would you say???..lol..

Close to it, that is a fantastic price.

Not into KISS so it is not one I'm looking to buy, but even I can feel a little twinge of jealousy for picking up such a good score.

What a great day! Fantastic to see one of us score that game, and not a "flipper"! Well done Paul!   $#$

Now - have you started the resto thread yet??

Your making me blush guys...lol...

Can you yellow the new bumper caps a little with some clear cote of some kind at all??

Also....was thinking about just touching up the red only on the cab???Or would that not look any good as its only the red thats faded big time...

If your gunna do a cab - dont just do one section.
A classic like this deserves a full and proper re-spray , maybe using stencils like the PinballPal ones , but bear on mind they are $140.00 US plus postage plus paint – so about $300 all said and done.
http://www.pinballpal.com/products/stencil/#KISS

either go all the way or dont touch it at all - DON’T just do a ‘half’ job on this cabinet.

As far as I know , nothing can be done ( that would look professional ) to yellowed caps
I think a few guys here may have a set of caps they could sell you for this one.

Mate – I am nearly keen to offer you that if you pay for all the parts needed , and that wouldnt be too much stuff by looking at these pics, I will strip and re-do this playfield for you – free of charge *)* No joke !

Theres also a few small things I could do with that cabinet as well ( not the re-spray mate ) - just other small touches.

Agree with Wotto. Either full on or leave it.

First thing i'd do is change those red flippers for the correct white with yellow rubber.

I find it interesting that with classic/vintage guitars, as soon as you refinish them the value drops dramatically. Scratches and dings are considered "Mojo"

With pinball it seems losing the Mojo for a nice new scratch and ding free cabinet is encouraged and in a lot of cases adds value.

There is nothing that brings up a playfield more than a new set of repro caps - PBR sells them. Leave them white and while you are at it buy and replace the skirts and bodies.

!!! !!! !!! great price for a kiss, it wouldn't cost much to get it going im sure, for that price you could get new boards and still be ahead.

cheers Ian
