Actually it looks pretty good - except for the German backglass - Pffttt, I prefer the ZZ one...

Call me a negative old bastard - But that's not a "restoration" (as in the auction), it is a Custom paint job that ruined a classic. Each to their own, but that artwork belongs on a wall, or a sheet of canvas. The classic artwork is timeless and iconic.

I really dislike re-themes and "mods" like this.

exactly what i was going to say when i first saw this post this afternoon  *%*

Not a restoration at all, they've just "pimped" it (much as i hate that term)!!

I have to agree with Nino, i dont like this kind of thing either, but having said that, its pretty well done though i reckon, not something i would do to a machine (unless it was totally trashed i might) but i can appreciate the amount of work that must've gone into it.
A lot like doing a custom paint job on an old classic car... some like it and some dont.

I think it looks fantastic!

I understand the purist view but I always thought the original art was pretty lame compared to the playfield.
Very cool IMO.

Guess the answer lies in the final price... will it be viewed as a good project for restoration or priced as a unique one off???

Price will tell

Bidding looks hot with 6 days to go. I would think most bidders have the standard Kiss in their collection and this would be a 1 off addition. The body work is good and matches playfield but a shame that German backglass and playfield were not dumped for the proper SS.

it is a Custom paint job that improved a classic. Each to their own, but that artwork belongs on a sheet of canvas in a museum. The classic artwork is boring

I am not adventurous

fixed :p

So it is a decal ? I thought it was airbrushed.
