Theres a Super Mario that keeps getting relisted on Ebay... seller wants $4000 for it.
Now were anyone ever to buy that machine at that price and then tell me,  i would feel obliged to inform them that they were bloody bonkers.
Often i have gone to look at a machine with a view to buy.. what greets me is a run of the mill 70's Williams EM game sitting on a back deck exposed to the elements. Seller then informs me that these things are worth thousands as he has seen them on Ebay for $5000 - $6000.
Can honestly say ive never regretted NOT buying one of these.. %.% %.%

With the advantage of hindsight I would buy from the forum as my first chioce.  The people on here ask reasonable prices for their games.  Any commercial dealer will factor in their costs which will push up price.  If you have a specific title in mind, start a thread asking what is reaonsable price and or a wanted add.
I'll have to bump up my message count to have a look at sales and selling.. 20 by the looks, but I certainly am looking forward to seeing what's for sale on here
