"Great canditate for a restoration" should read "Great candidate for the odd spare part for some other restoration"

500 start, and it isnt being mis-represented. You would want a look under the PF though, and inside the cab as well.

I agree. By the looks of the chunks missing from the head, I'd say the inside of the cabinet would have serious issues.

My only issue that is mis-represented is the $4500 price tag for a restored Funhouse. Maybe 7-8 years ago, but not these days. This is a rough project, and would need a lot of work to be presentable - but it represents value if the price stays low. I'd say under $1000.

I also suggest under 1k
Consider you need a PF ( 1000 ) ,  decals (200 ++)
So at 1k buy price , we would already be at 2200 bucks.
Add to that a hell of a lot of other parts for up top and I imagine under the playfield ( gotta be $600+ to replace plastics, posts, ramps etc etc PLUS any under parts) .......so now we are at a MINIMUM of 2800 bucks.

Add to all of that legs and a coin door plus 'hardware materials and time to fix the cabinet and your looking at EASY 3200+++ long term.

My Funhouse was frickin MINT , with all new everything and I sold it for $3300.00
$4500 is a LONG way off the mark  #@#

And my apologies for my thread title IF anyone 'assumed' I was meaning the seller was having a go etc - at no time did I mean that , I just used a title to 'capture attention'

Until its much over $1K, it's still worthwhile if you are able to do the work, a good basis for a mostly new game at the end I suppose.

At least he used the past tense - "have seen". Just doesn't tell you when...

Anyway, the DMD sounds good.

I have seen local dealers ask $2500 for similar machines straight on their factory floor.

To be fair auction started low..

Ah, did they get it?

Yes, and if it stays under $1,000 it will probably be worth it. It certainly is not worth anything near $4,500.

"Burnt globes replaced and worn rubbers replaced" ..  #@#

I think the seller is VERY fair with the price reflecting the condition. It would be a GREAT starting point for a restoration. But I've not seen a Funhouse sell for $4500 for years.
