AC/DC update
« on: December 26, 2012, 09:51:33 AM »
i will be using the time i have off to update my Ac/dc pin, so this is where i began to wonder, if i've done none previously should i jump from none to the most recent, or do them gradualy (if that can be done)? Is the 1.6 update the most recent? Actually my son will be doing it, as i have no idea how to do it. Thanks

updating the software?
just update to the newest version out there

the prosess erases the old version, it will also reset all your settings and highscores

it is very simple to do, I have done it several times on my Stern games with out any issues
you just need to download the software, unzip it, move it to a USB drive and follow the instructions in your game

Good to hear. I had to change a CPU chip when I upgraded my TZ machine. Got a pause mode trapping the ball on the left flipper if the phone rings though - well worth it.

this is why you hear about stern releasing games with incomplete code
they can release a game and you can update the software at home

as I have said above, I have done it a few times, and if I can do it, anyone can

If u do a code update, and there have been say 5 upgrades since u bought the machine, the latest code includes everything, so as mentioned just update the latest code which is well worth it......

also, if u dont have the winzip program, it is also on the Stern website.

link below shows winzip on far left of page

http://www.sternpinball.com/GAME-code.shtml

and the link below, is best printed out and use this, step by step, its reasonably straight forward, when finished, just remember to make your machine freeplay etc. Hope it helps all members who are not used to software code upgrades yet.  ^^^

Also, see this other thread I did with complete video etc.

Sorry about that, after my son having done mine i can understand why you would be have been excited about a new update. Huge improvement, most noticeable at first where the bulbs being vastly different colours, remembering that i hadn't done any updates and alot of my bulbs where boring white.
