F14 tomcat driver board repair (sys 11A)

here is one section of the driver board before.




The epoxy, transistors  and components that need to be replaced are removed






The area is cleaned and prepared








some green scouring pad is cut into small pieces to reinforce the epoxy and colour it to match the board and the epoxy is added





transistors are fitted






the finished board

 yeah scared shit out of me when i opened it up. Carnt believe some one can destroy a board like that. Even with my standards i dont think i could make that much of a mess.

Its amazing to see someones work who is as talented as beaky.. Top work..... ^^^

Nice work. Looks pretty butchered. I dunno what it is about F14, I've had a couple with holes burnt straight through the board in the special solenoid section!

Have you ever considered using eyelets in your repairs? I've just started toying with them, and I've been very impressed with them.

which ones do you use? they would be a good way to anchor / solder the components that belong in the repaired areas in place.

Don't know how I missed this when originally posted.

That's a pretty amazing transformation! ^%^

I like the green scouring pad idea and must say the masking tape 'drape' looked very surgical.
