AVENGERS has arrived at TimeZone Surfers Paradise
« on: January 06, 2013, 06:53:31 PM »
 #*#

Spotted NIB on the back of a ute yesterday, I was a bit skeptical so called timezone this morning, and....

YES! all set up and ready to play  ^^^

Had about 7/8 games this arvo, not bad were my first impressions, Hulk toy really makes it except when
the ball gets stuck under his right arm and you have to wait for a reset.

Playfield is kind of divided into 3 sections, bottom half, upper left half with the Hulk and upper right with the pops.
Spinning cube is ok, mainly just interupts the ball a little.

Wow, that is awesome!!! Can't believe how fast they got one. Shame I won't be doing any Gold Coast trips anytime soon.

The ball being trapped under the Hulk arm scares me a bit if it would be constantly searching for the ball. Maybe a software update will fix it?

Cavey is quiet....is he down there now playing it? haha

Cheers!
Adam.

Wow, that was quick, I though they were still 2 weeks away....

you will have to turn it off and on to see what version it is running, since the update the guys in the US have complained really at all, as it now is set to twitch sooner.

give us some more reviews / thoughts

I will pop down tomorrow morning (Mon 5th Jan) and give it a good play and can do a review like I did for X Men Pro if people want...

Will take some photos etc....interested to see if the lighting in the backbox is different to the lighting in AC/DC Pro.....

Also, Timezone import directly from Stern and always get the earliest model in the production line to test n play. AMD wont get their stock for another few weeks.

Managed to get an hour on the machine at Timezone this morning. Intial views:

Interesting to play a 2 flipper machine again! Limits the number of shots needed to play the game, but the small flipper shots onto small ramps can be very annoying on some games (see L ramp Simpson party pinball).

Without knowing the rules to any depth, all seems straightforward - just keep shooting avenger ramps/targets to activate them. Not too hare, except Black Widow - typically the female is the most difficult for some reason.

Managed to get Hulk multiball fairly easily (yes, does get stuck under his right arm a few times) and Loci after a while. Both fun to play.

Voices are not from actors, but match the game well. Hulk has the the best lines - like the film. I would like to play the game in a quiet area to hear them more - anyone around the Coast going to buy one for us all?

Not sure what the cube does, not too annoying though (like Wolverine in Xmen)

Look forward to another session, and mastering a few more of the shots, but overall, enjoyed playing it.

1.1 code in this one. The right ramp next to the spinning cube is a super tight shot
and the right orbit too, almost annoying.

Like Cavey said, more game needed and it would be nice to hear the audio.

Not sold on this yet, no where near Xmen or ACDC, for me at the moment anyway

looks like we have 2 threads running for Avengers machine. Can they be combined? (this one and Avengers late 2012).

agree, the Avenger late 2012 is the main one, maybe this one can have a divert link and be locked.
