Adding Insert Lamps 2
« on: March 14, 2009, 03:32:48 PM »
So following from the last thread, here's some of the results:

“If you wanna escape, go up to a pinball machine. There’s a magic button on the front that takes you to a world under the glass and makes the the rest of the universe disappear.”

In the last scene Nug is manually activating playfield switches during one of the modes, and you can see the "fan" of triangles winding down as time runs out.

Wow, this is getting close now.

Interesting that you chose to use lamps rather then LEDs - but I guess you had plenty of lamps lying around. And do you prefer the 'warmer' feel of the lamps?

Actually, the mini-playfield is using LEDs, and we decided last night that some of the other insert lamps are going to be changed out for LEDs as well. As for "warm" - to be honest, it's horses for courses. Using LEDs in a traditional production game generally looks a little odd as the firing of the lamps was designed to take account of the lamps characteristics. We can do pretty much anything as there's no comparison!

OK, didn't look closely enough to see any LEDs!

The advantage of building your own system is that you don't need to be conventional.
