Pinscore 6 digit display review
« on: January 25, 2013, 06:17:26 PM »
Just got in a new pinscore 6 digit display from rtbb for my space invader pinball. I just couldn't get one of the old original displays to work properly.

So I thought I'd give a real brief review of the product.

Installation is a matter of a minute or two, you mount the display to the pcb and secure them using pcb mounting posts and small angle brackets. Installation on a Bally is plug and play.

Looks great but does make your other displays look a little dated and dim. This can make it look a bit out of place but it does have a dimmer on it which I haven't tried. There is a jumper to either have the commas displayed or not, again I didn't remove it so in the photo you can see the comma

All round I think it's a great replacement and purchased from a great Aussie seller. Btw the photo probably doesn't give it justice.

I agree but I'll get those once the resto is completed. I removed the jumper to get rid of the comma and at least match the others that way

I purchased a full set of these with the master display as well for my 1978 Phoenix. They do look superb.
I think they cost something like $190 for the master n 4 x slave displays from Mad Amusements cause I had a order in already and adding them didnt add any extra postage. The PinScore stuff is excellent.

I then found out that Beaky (Andy) makes his own pinscore type displays n buys the stuff from some electrical wholesaler n puts it together himself with soldering iron etc. I dont know exactly what he gets or does, but I saw some new ones he had made and they looked great. Talented.

The FG uses 7 Digit displays for the Player 1 - 4 displays. Greg has these ;

Rob - if the glass is still good, the board should be simple to repair - so don't discard the displays. They are easy fixes.

I tried fixing the board like the others bt failed on this one. The legs/pins from the glass seem trashed and someone has tried to solder to make the broken pin connections. I tried as well with no luck. So the reason for the purchase, the other two displays came up great
