Title: Playing pinball in the heat...problems??
Post by: ROLLERBALL on November 03, 2009, 11:02:15 PM: MMM ok...I had some funny game issues today that I hadnt had before....
The Flintstones started to do a few strange things then reset a couple of times...and the WW that had been playing fine the day before now and then had really weak flippers..like when multi-ball was started...
The flintstone issues happend during multi-ball as well...

so i turned the machines off for an hour or so...then gave them a quick game straight after turning them on and they seemed fine...
So im guessing the hot day today..37c must have been doing it...

So should we not be playing our machines when its over like 30c???
Can it do any damage???

Post by: ajlaird on November 03, 2009, 11:04:38 PM: Say the coils were overheating slightly - well, normally you wouldn't notice it - but on a hot day the extra increase in ambient temperature could cause the symptoms you describe.

Post by: deadlydave on November 03, 2009, 11:11:23 PM: How far away is your house from the supply authority tranny? Maybe if your near the end of the line and all the neighbors have cranked up the A/C units you might be getting a low voltage supply? Just a thought.

If you have ever seen the floor in Pauls garage under his pins - you would realise that it is HE that would be stealing ALL the power from all the townhouses in his complex :lol

Hey I recall last summer playing my Flintstones on a VERY hot day and the same thing happened - was fine every other day but....not sure how common this is *!@

If other machines are experiencing the same / similar issues at the same time - sounds like a power drain. How many points do you have in your games area? Did the games that had issues connect to the same wall socket ?

I did have both machines in the same plug...no A/C ect drawing power though....cooler today so will see if there is a difference tonight...and yes I probably need to do the BR's and cap on the Flintstones as Ive not done it...another job to put on the list..
