How about this for a design:
Have a upper playfield that is right across the back slightly horse shoe shaped so narrow in the centre with one flipper one each side with a ramp entrance / exit with a one flipper at each side trying to keep the ball live up there to hit the targets. This playfield represents the neighbours back yard that also has the dog on heat fenced in. To access the yard ramp on either side (representing the side gates to the back yard) that can be opened up by game goal achieved where the ramp lowers (similar to creature) during a time period or multiball. In addition a VUK in the centre that a drop target needs to be hit X amount of times to allow access to the VUK (represents dig under the fence. In the extra playfield have the design based on a backyard, bbq, tree, cubby house, dog bowl – where you get points for searching / trashing each of these objects which then reveals the guy to attack.
The main playfield can have the graphics of the street environment that your dog can venture around with the goal of getting into the guys back yard, with maybe a garage built into the lower playfield going under the top playfield representing the guys stored prized possession (a hot rod or games room). With the ramps up and top playfield in-accessible the loop around is the dog running around the block looking to get in.
Dog on heat mode could be multiball with all the balls representing dogs trying to get into the backyard to have a go.
You send it off to Stern.... lol
