Hi, i haven't seen how big/small your braid is, but you may be able to use De-soldering braid, basically used to mop up solder from PC boards, take a look at Jaycar, CAT. NO. NS3020, http://www.jaycar.com.au/productView.asp?ID=NS3020&keywords=desolder+braid&form=KEYWORD. If you only need a small amount it may work.
