I have warned about this previously. Already we have issues such as a drop target PCB in Family Guy giving a lot of trouble but the part is no longer available.....I will be working on making replacements (where economically possible) using through hole technology BUT even this is becoming harder daily. I am working on an electronic aviation project and one of the IC's we need to use is ONLY available as S/M so that is starting to be an issue.Board repairs are going to become more hi-tech and will not be repaired by hobbyists in most cases without special tools and training I suspect.Welcome to the new world - how much better it is.........
