Re the light ballasts from memory they are 50-60Hz....

I have seen hacks where they have been chopped and wired in straight off 240.  From memory nothing should need to be changed with the lights.

The issue with the motor is that it was spec'd to only run on 60Hz, where most items are 50-60Hz...
