OK, here's a question for all those pinball detectives out there:

It seems that at some stage the diodes on many of the coils on this machine have been replaced - on the slingshots, the pop bumpers and the drop targets (only the ones that reset the targets). I can tell because they have been replaced in a very messy fashion. I can't be sure but it looks like that they have all been done at the same time. Is there any reason someone would do this? It seems unlikely to me that all those diodes would have failed (but I could be wrong).
