So the steam clearer did a good job ? Didn't leave water everywhere ?

No mate... cant remember the specs on steam but its something like once its turned to steam it has 20 X the volume of water at about 150deg C, so you get a lot more done with very liquid output.
Once the steam hits it, the dirt blasts off and the components are pretty much dry straight away.
There was a large amount of grease on this board and so i sprayed with sugar Soap first which made it wet... let this sit for a minute to begin to dissolve the grease and steam off. Board was perfectly dry by next day.
under the PF i just used straight steam and this was dry in an hour.. maybe even less
