figures out today show that the most of the last "bonus payments" went to credit card debt reduction

This remains a stupid idea that will f uck the economy and this country royally

The Reserve Bank Governor disagrees. :)

(Out of interest, from what source are you obtaining your "figures" from?)

Reserve Bank of Australia Governor Glenn Stevens has backed the Federal Government's stimulus packages, saying the economy would be weaker without them.

"2009 and, to some extent, 2010 would have seen a lower pace of aggregate demand in Australia, absent those measures," Mr Stevens said.
