While I am cleaning up my Card Whiz I have been reading the EM repair guides online and found a mention in part 2 to using the A-16890 coil with diodes instead to stop the A-9738 Hold relay coil from overheating. Has anyone here tried this and can confirm it works?

I thinks its fairly common to use the coin lockout coil to do the same thing.
I think that is a A-16890 coil.
