you won't find the pathway on any schematics or drawings that correspond with a layout on the playfield. If you remove the old braid, it is always best to take photos and draw the outline.
When I do playfield swaps, I trace the braid on tracing paper and then superimpose on a new playfield. You can't just "wing" this process. Each machine is different, and I keep a detailed record.
