Whenever my dad paints my machines, he removes the side trim and chisels a small piece of wood off the main cabinet colour and then takes it to the paint shop and gets that matched. He'll then fill the old game, smooth it over and paint over it. Not sure if it's possible with your Flash Gordon if it's been repainted, but thought I'd put it out there.

Thanks Adam, but mine currently has a custom paint job on it. Unfortunately it's nothing like the original. There is red on it but its defiantly not the right colour.

This might give you an idea.  Red was matched to the backglass.

Thanks Humpalot, yours looks very nice,  I'm jealous.  The gold looks about the same as the gold which runs around the perimeter and frames the back glass (with mirroring in between). Would this be correct?
