Thanks.  I tried re-seating the sound eprom but i havent tried the game eprom.  I have flicked that red lever once or twice and i will give it a few more flicks tomorrow.  Sound board should be grounded ok, i added a few screws to it today.  I will have a look at the other ideas as well tomorrow.
