I wonder what numbers AMD got allocated for the LE machines. Did the numbers start at 50 or 100 or 150 etc ?
If Stern produces 500 LE machines only, they guarantee themselves a quick 3.5 million dollars aprox - this recoups all their design and set up fees easily, and probably leaves them with a easy million or two in profit. Then, everything else they make is clear profit minus production costs etc.
In the past Stern has always said that it can cost up to 1 million dollars to bring a title to full production, so it looks like they are certainly extremely profitable at the moment with the LE, Premium and Pro models all bringing in a lot of coin for the company.
