Interesting topic, as its something i have tried as well.

It would be good to do a proper trial with say 10 games with trapping, and 10 games without.  But my gut feeling for myself is that i seem to be able to score more jackpots by keeping them all in motion most of the time.  Often the effort to go towards trapping leads to a drain.  I've noticed that on a lot of the PAPA videos where people trap (or try to), they often only get one jackpot - whereas much of the time with keeping them going i can get 2 or 3 on the same game
my exact observation. Even when I try I find it difficult to get a long multiball going. I have found I can save a lot of drains by purposely hitting balls into each other.
