Yep.
Thicker paint with a lower pressure.. it takes a little bit of balancing to get the settings just right ( cheaper guns have less finite adjustments). Theres a sweet spot in the middle of a spotty spray to having paint dribble slowly out the nozzle and its all dependent on just how viscous the paint is.
As KTM450 says.. a practice piece of timber or similar is essential
