Nothing but greed offering a lesser machine for the same price. They would have been better off offering the LE at a higher price (which I bet they are kicking themselves they didn't) and then offering the standard at the $7995 price or lower so at least it doesn't look like a slap in the face the those that didn't have the opportunity to get a LE machine.
How many of us would pay for a put a deposit down for a concept car? I can see it now, a new manufacturer announce plans to make a new car with a few teaser shots of what it might look like and then ask for their customers to fund the project.
