The manual will cover the alignment of the motor with respect to the switch stacks - but - it is hard to follow. There's no real need to completely disassemble. You can leave the plastic cogs in place and there might be 4 screws holding the plate with the switch stacks. Remove the late and you have access to the cogs to clean them. Use a permanent marker to "mark" the alignment of the motor and cogs IF you decide to strip completely.
