If a machine needs 60hz you can't (easily) generate that in Australia - a stepdown will simply covert the 220V AC to 110V AC and the 50hz will stay 50hz

If you are trying to run a late model Stern that MUST have 60hz you will need to buy a convertor board from Wayneepoo
