I will experiment with this soon and from reading since it has a 100% α-cellulose structure the clear in theory and definitely resins pass through it, and not sit on top of it like mylar I am guessing as the clear probably isn't attaching well to the mylar making it brittle...??? (wild guessing around that statement)

found another video showing another technique - am thinking you could apply the design (with register marks) and then let it cure and then route the inserts and switch slots etc setting the playfield / cnc router with register marks and then clearing.
