I often wonder if the new machines will be repairable or thrown away?   With the money people spend I’m sure they will want them repairs but highly unlikely they will be serviceable in 20 years time

As long as the manufacturers make tons of parts to back up sales of their games, then they will be repairable. Service technicians, on the other hand, are a dying breed. The biggest issue for me is the boutique manufacturers that might not last long. Then you would be stuck with a lemon !
