Both correct - the spindle is raised on the repro. This caused intermittent issues with the raising and lowering of the assembly as it lightly touched the raised collar. I will machine it down once I restore the lathe.

I also had issues with the Time Expander Opto bank receiver as 2 of the 5 LEDs were dead and one was intermittent. I refurbished the original. The repro I purchased is "no longer available". I always knew I was a bit of a troublemaker..
