its funny how everyone thinks that the guys who work in the pin industry have the best job out.we think that, most guys in the industry dont.
When u ask most guys who work in the industry "how many pins do u have" most of them say none.
I know Mark is probably the exception because he has a collection listed, but most arcade/pin guys see the items they have as stock only, a simple means to a dollar.
i went into a sellers premises recently and looked at an amazing minty condition junkyard pinball, it had just been traded, that moning, when i remarked with enthusiasm about how good it was, the seller just said "just another piece of wood to me".
but, yes, we would all like to have marks job for a few weeks for sure ! for us, it would be fun.
yes some of the dealers here in Melbourne hate pinball and see it as a job . its not a job to me , I get more enjoyment when I drop off a pin and see the smiles
to see my little girsl smile when they play makes my day worth while . I dont sell a pin , you can come and play mine and if you want one fine but i dont believe in High presure carsalesmen .
I still look to container days and to get a pin I havent seen .
when we got a container in with a CC in , we all couldnt wait to power it up . I did get high score that day andhave never let them forget it ...
mind you it was the worst CC we have ever had but I have it still and have spent way to much $$$ and time on it , but its mine and lives at home
Pinball is meant to be fun .. somedays I can say its not and a little over 12 months ago i was giving it away . now I think I will be round for a few more years ....
