You could check that the coil sleeve is not worn ( or replace anyway for a few dollars), check that the EOS switch is not bent or broken and catching on the flipper pawl, also check that there is a bit of free play between the flipper bat the the bush and that the flipper is not dragging on the playfield. Hopefully should be one of the above.
