Hi Steve.

Can't say exactly whether JP should have the post there but I'll have a look on my DE Star Wars tonight (I know there is one on the left side . . not sure about the right ) . Being both DE pins the part number should be the same .

As for the post never actually ever being there , that is a possibility too . I recently discovered on my Williams Indiana Jones that there are/were 2 plastics up towards the back of the playfield that had holes in them where they would attach to a post but there was no post there . One of them had a small indentation directly under it but had never had a post screwed into it from factory.
