Nicks diagram is what you need to follow. I always change the plug (through necessity if the machine is an import), and if the cable is frayed or looks damaged, I replace that as well. I bought 100M of cable for the sole reason to replace the cables on ALL my EMs. You can buy the plugs from bunnings.
