When you say you are a machinist, do you mean you work on a lathe and milling machine etc. working with metal?
I am a fitter and turner, I dont do much turning any more mainly mechanical maintenance.
I used to work at a machine shop years ago, I could ask around and find out how the smaller machine shops are fairing, if that is your trade.
