I emigrated myself here some 15 years back.
I was sponsored as a skilled migrant for 4 years. I was SUPPOSED to pass on my skills and then at the end of 4 years they will kick me out.
I never passed on my skills.. kinda felt this part was unfair.
Anyway.. they still wanted to kick me out regardless, but i was just about to get married and this bought me time.
The deal was never sealed till my son arrived ( born), even then, geting to stay here permanent was a real struggle.
Only way for you to do it is to set up business and promise to employ 3 Aussies.. keep them emplyed for X amount of time and you can stay... its not guaranteed though and after moving everything, setting up shop, selling up etc... they can still tell you to go back. This just happened to a friend of mine.. he lost everything trying to set up home here and went back to England completely broke.
It aint easy mate... you sure Canada is too cold??
