With a new fuse in it and un pluged from the wall, disconnect the plug on the primary side of the transformer (240v side) and put a multi meter across the pins on the plug with the multi meter set on continuity (beeping when you short the leads).if it beeps then cut one of the wires off the varistor (the blue or green round disk with wires coming out of it) close to the line filter (the big silver or black thing with wires going in and out).
put a multi meter across the pins on the plug again.
if it no longer beeps then the varistor is faulty.
if it still beeps then cut the 2 wires on the output of the line filter (the oposite side that the fuse and varistor is connected to)
put a multi meter across the pins on the plug again.
if it still beeps then your line filter if faulty
if it no longer beeps then there is a short in the wiring between the transformer and the line filter.
Replace the faulty component.
