I keep a spreadsheet with a tab for each machine. On this I record all details, such as when bought, how much, details of what repairs and work I've done. Also have a section on what bits I've bought and what I want - helps a lot when you order so you don't forget bits.
Also keep a directory on the pc for each machine for any info, manuals, cards, schematics, links etc that relate to the machine.
