I appreciate Mark's points about other sellers, but we haven't had any complaints (that I am aware of) with any of our sponsors,but of course the rule can apply to any sale of any sort as suggested.
As far as proof, emails etc - my position (subject to the other Admins) would be that we would not want to be judge and jury. We'd just have to play it by ear.
