Apart from the Slam switch, you have already found the problem - Connectors. The connectors pins are only rated for around 20 insertions - that is disconnecting and connecting the connectors 20 times. They lose their tension and then connectivity is compromised.

It is a simple but time consuming job.

Hopefully you don't have corrosion on the CPU board that has traveled down to the connectors
