other than the high voltage have you tested for the +5 & +12 volts?
try putting the freddy rom in the SF dmd controller and then put the SFcontroller in the freddy. ( if the controller board has a rom, not sure if sys3 has display rom)
if it works then try swapping the ribbon cable over.
