Unless your playfield is down to bare wood like mine, avoid like the plague. 

Clear coating over the top of a sticker is just asking for trouble.

+1 with Marty, while it may look 'nice' short term, once you get some plays on the game you will most certainly run into adhesion problems. Particularly around heavy traffic areas and posts.

I would stick with your touchup work
