put the machine in switch test mode   make sure all the ball tray switches & the opto switch are working  operate the switches with your finger listen for the clicking sound   also check the solder join on the ball popper coil   run the balls through the trough make sure the switches register

i had a problem with mine ages ago, the ball popper kept going off during play   the fix  new optos boards
