Gorgar was the first machine to use speech, the first time I saw it even had a sign attached proclaiming ‘GORGAR, the world’s fist taking pinball’
You should also know that this was before people had PCs at home (that came with the VIC 20 in 1980)
There would have been no other piece of consumer electronics that was capable of speech at that time

Video games did not get speech until 1980 (Berzerk)
