Jurassic Park Clean Up
« on: March 03, 2013, 12:26:39 PM »

Last week member Pinister made the trip down South to collect Asteroid Annie. On the way he dropped off his Jurassic Park to another member who had bought it…..

The next day that cash winged it’s way up to Melbourne so I could buy from Strangeways…..a Jurassic Park!!

I suppose we could have worked out a trade before he sold his, but Pinister’s JP was pristine, however….this one was a “straight off the boat” container pin. While this was an "as is" deal, Strangeways couldn't help himself and got it going before I arrived. Thanks mate!

Here’s some before shots.

I thought the ramps were some sort of proto "smoked" acrylic!

Typical container pin grime...but unlike some of the other offerings around, Strangeways has a better source, so the games are in much better initial condition (under all that of course).

I was curious if the grime had discoloured the whites - apparently not.

Now to work with the pinball shoppers favorite helper.

Pretty sure Nifti is detergent mixed with metho and not much else (just a guess). It does clean well, but leaves a sticky residue that needs to be cleaned off on the next run otherwise it will attract grime again.

So, many hours later.....

Waiting on a few parts now to finish it off - thanks Greg ( www.rtbb.com.au ) for organising some coils and flipper rebuild kits etc. Also providing a bunch of lamp holders to replace 30 odd ones underneath that have corroded, then it will be back into the cab for some play testing.

It really does seem so!! I think these things just get put on site and never cleaned. Makes you start to wonder if all our waxes and techniques are actually worth it!

Yeah I wonder about wax as these old girls play all there life without a clean and look at your result after a wipe over, JP would have made an op sum good money to as the movie was a hit.

It looks to be coming up very nicely Nick, even the ramps look very very nice when you consider their earlier colour. JP is lots of fun, I'm sure your going to enjoy it once your done. Looking forward to the next update.

looks great, that was a fav of mine back in the nineties going to the arcade next to the movies.

I am doing a similar thing to a baywatch, not as dirty but some interesting mods - washing up sponge in the back of every target.

Look forward to seeing the pf in the cab

Hopefully that green stand-up target should arrive Mon or Tue for you.
