Gottlieb King Kool Resto

Hey fellas new to the forum here. I've got an old EM pinball my parents have had since I was little and after about 15 years of storage I've decided to get it up and running again. Cosmetically it's not too bad and I've replaced all the rubbers and cleaned up the play field. My biggest issue is when I turn it on all I get is a horrible buzzing and the lights flashing every now and then. I checked the relays and found a N/O welded up but after freeing that still no good.
Was wondering if anyone has had a similar problem before I go jumping right into the maze of wires.

 $.$ Tim and  %)% to AP !

Buzzing could be the HOLD relay which is in the lower cabinet. These are almost always cooked. Second place could be the coin lockout coil mounted in the door. If the issue happens during play, lift the playfield up and simulate a game. Dim the lights and when the buzzing sounds starts look for sparks around the area the noise is coming from. This could lead you to the culprit.

Not 100% sure with Gottlieb EM's but Williams wired the G1 (general illumination) via the hold relay , so the 'lights flashing' intermittently would suggest a problem with the hold relay .

On one of my Williams EM's I am currently missing the hold relay coil (cause its too burnt) so have simply bent closed a few of the switches (such as the GI) so game still works until I buy a replacement coil .
It just means that if you switch the machine off mid game and switch it back on , it stays in mid game instead of stripping the game over relay.

You would, of course, need the game manual or schematic to be able do this workaround if needed
I need more room ! and more $$$

If you are able to determine which relay is buzzing and where it is located eg. in the back box/light box, under the playfield, on the coin mechanism as mentioned or on the base of the machine cabinet?
If your lucky, the relays will have a small label beside or letters e.g. R, AX, S,..... on the relay.
The spinner contacts or roll overs switches under the playfield are worth checking as they may be closed or not adjusted properly, and causing a relay lockup.
