« on: December 23, 2013, 09:21:03 PM »
Guys I've just walked into my shed and it smells like eggs really really bad mainly down the back half near the bar???

I've searched high and low but can't find even a rough area where its coming from there is zero smell outside the shed and no ones been in here apart from me?

Any idea ???  It really smells and I don't want to be in here lol

Yeah if something has died it will be this meaty / salty smell.  Heat makes it a lot worse...

Maggots will find it and eat it away but be prepared for a couple weeks of stank and dank..

It does smell like a gassy egg smell but I don't have any gas hooked up out there at the moment.  Doesn't smell like a dead critter but it may just be.

Ill leve the extractor fan on for a few days and air it out lol.

You have any machines with selenium rectifiers in?..When these fail, its a terrible rotten egg smell.

Sorry mate, I did drop one the other day, they tend to linger - recall that Seinfeld episode? That was based on one of mine.....  !*!

Probably is some vermin....last year a smell like you described started in my last car. I figured it was something the kids had eaten in the car and left to rot under the seat. My lovely wife volunteered to find the offending suspected sandwich....

Later she said 'Thanks a lot!' and looked rather angry - turns out as she reached around under the seat she found something soft and goey and the likely culprit - and pulled out a rotting mouse!

Better her than me!

No Gav
No selenium rectifiers at the moment but hopefully soon ;)

    And Nick
If its your still lingering I'd be deeply concerned lol but the mouse sounds like a winner (loser in the mouses case)

Being on rural property, certain times of the year we used to get mice running around in the roof, friggen annoying when you are trying to sleep. I put several party packs of ratsack in the roof which definitely slowed them down, but once we got one that died down the wall near the kitchen window, obviously the smell could not be contained by a timber architrave and everytime I walked over to the sink I would get a sudden reminder that I should get the missus to do the dishes for a couple of weeks   *)*
