water slide decals paper
« on: May 13, 2014, 08:59:30 PM »
Currently experimenting with a old SS wide body apron and want to produce the decals using ink jet paper that works like the decals you find in plastic modelling kits. Where can you buy these in Melbourne or anywhere and what paper sizes are available A4, A3 and so on.

Also what is used to seal the ink so it does not run when immersed in water and where can you get that?

Thanks

Bought mine on Ebay and used clear acrylic to seal the ink... it worked much better than I expected and once completely dried I CC'd over the top

Be careful spraying the clear acrylic on to the apron if it has been painted with enamel - It will wrinkle  &^&

I had a lot of trouble doing this. Need a thicker paper. Mine was this as skin and kept wrinkling.
