Drop Targets need `tuning`
« on: June 20, 2014, 01:43:09 PM »
drop targets on my Phoenix are becoming a bit clunky. A good ball swipe doesn't always drop all targets. plus on reset they seem a but clunky and slow. Tips on cleaning or tuning  appreciated

Hi mate,

I'm not familiar with the mechanics of this machine but the first things I'd do would be to check the springs are in good order, check that the drop target assembly is secure to the underside of the playfield, clean any coils and preferably change the sleeves. If the assembly looks like its has a lot of built up grime then it maybe best just to strip it down and clean it all properly. Depending on the assembly type they can be a pain though.

You may want to try a new set of horseshoe contacts from Homepin while you tune your targets. From memory, Phoenix comes in a pack of 10. Here is a link to the thread.

If you don't remember the 70s then you were on drugs.
If you remember playing pinball in the 70s you were having a good time.
If you don't remember anything,  then read about it here,

Hey mate these drop target banks have a PCB per drop target if you remove these and give them a scrub with a green scotch bright then a light rub with 3in1 oil will perk these right up
